“The Holiday of HOPE”
At this joyous time of year, we celebrate Easter, which I like to refer to as “The Holiday of HOPE.” The Resurrection of Christ brings each of us face-to-face with the reality of the miracle of Easter: Christ promised us everlasting life! And to prove it to us, through the power of the Holy Spirit, He conquered death by His own resurrection!
If that isn't “The Miracle of HOPE,” I don't know what is!
Can you imagine a life without HOPE? Our world would be in utter chaos if we did not believe that, no matter how tough life can get sometimes, there's always the HOPE of a better tomorrow. And even if we don't believe that our lives on earth can get better, there's the bright promise of a beautiful eternity in heaven.
So, even though Easter comes so early this year, and we may not be celebrating it on a warm, spring morning, we must remember that each Easter reminds us that we have much to celebrate! As Christians, we MUST remind ourselves of Christ's words to us: “I am with you always, even until the end of time.”
Now, that's HOPE!
On behalf of Bishop Stephen Burke, Bishop Rosemary Ananis, the priests and people of the American Catholic Church of New England, we extend to you our best wishes for a very Happy, and hope-filled Easter!
Blessings,
Bishop Michael Scalzi
